The following is an on-going documentation of photographs, text, and statements recording the progress of what we hope will be the first of many tile and sculpture installations on the campus of Nassau Community College.
This project is a ceramic wall-tile installation, a celebration of multi-cultural diversity
and community through public art. The installation came about through the creative
efforts of the Nassau Community College art faculty and their students.

Through a collaboration of faculty and students, together, they have designed this pubic art piece and at this writing will install ceramic tile and sculpture in an exterior entry space, symbolically reflecting the multi-cultural diversity of students and faculty of Nassau Community College. Public art is essentially artwork that is designed within a public building or public outdoor space : art that you discover on your way to somewhere else. "Off the Wall Art " is a whimsical title for the project that reflects our unconventional efforts in what we hope will be a series of ceramic tile and sculptural installations on the Nassau Community College Campus. As it were, the ceramic tile installation, literally, will be installed off of the wall surrounding a bench seating arrangement on the South entrance to Building "G".
